Men's IPL 2023 will start on March 31. Total 74 matches will be played in IPL 2023. All matches will be in T20 Format. In Last IPL edition, Gujarat Titans became champion in their first appearance. Total of 10 teams will play in the this edition of IPL T20. Group A team will be play 1-1 match with other Group A teams while Group B will be 2 matches against teams in other groups. BCCI has declared the dates of IPL 2023. 1st match of IPL 2023 will be played on 31st March 2023 between CSK and GT. IPL 2023 final will be played on May 28, 2023.
The excitement and entertainment of the T20 are all set to commence in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League 2023. The IPL will commence on March 31, 2023, and the last game will be contested on May 28, 2023. The IPL 16th season, also known as Tata IPL 2023, will feature a total number of 74 matches and all the matches of the tournament will be contested in the 12 different stadiums in India.
There will be a total number of 10 participating teams in the Tata Indian Premier League 2023. Gujarat Titans under the leadership of Hardik Pandya captured the IPL title in their maiden IPL campaign. The journey of IPL will begin with the first encounter between 4 times winner CSK and reigning winner KKR on 31 March 2023 in Ahmedabad. Every weekend will have two matches as a doubleheader, whereas the working days will only have one. The afternoon bouts will commence at 7:30 PM IST, with the daytime matches beginning at 3:30 PM.

IPL 2023 Injury News & Replacement Updates
- Prasidh Krishna is injured due to lumbar stress fracture and so will not participate in entire IPL 2023 season. He was playing for Rajasthan Royals.
- Jasprit Bumrah will be out of IPL series. He is representing Mumbai Indians.
- Shreyas Iyer might miss half of the IPL tournament due to injury. At present, He is captain of KKR Team.
- Jonny Bairstow (England) of Punjab Kings will miss entire IPL season. He is now replaced by Matt Short (Australia).

New Rule in IPL 2023

Broadcasting Rights of IPL 2023
The BCCI leased the television rights for the 2023 to 2027 editions for 48,390 crores ($6.1 billion) in June 2022, making the event the second richest and most lucrative in the world behind the NFL. Star Sports extended its broadcast agreement, and the Viacom18 group secured the streaming rights completely. All the matches of the IPL 2023 will be streamed by JioCinema whereas Star Network will air all the matches on television.

All the participating squads of the upcoming IPL 2023 are categorized into 2 groups i.e, A and B, and each club will face 14 group matches. Each team will contest a single match against teams of the same group and 2 matches against the other group’s team. The participating teams are mentioned below:
- Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings club will enter the IPL 2023 under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni along with Stephen Fleming as a head coach. The CSK club was formed in 2008 and it is owned by India Cements Limited. In the last season of IPL, CSK reached the final but could not win the title and ended as a runner-up. In addition to possessing the best victory rate (58.98%) across all the other IPL clubs, the Super Kings have claimed the league's championship four times in 2010,2011, 2018, and 2021. They have earned the record of the most participation in both the IPL Final i.e, nine times, and the playoffs i.e, eleven times.
- Delhi Capitals
Owned by GMR Group and the JSW Group, Delhi Capitals will take part in the 16th season of IPL under the guidance of Ricky Ponting as a head coach. The team plays its home matches in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi which has a capacity of 55,000 attendees. In the last IPL season, Delhi Capitals finished 5th place in the points table. In 2022, Delhi played a total number of 14 matches where they could achieve victory in 7 matches and could not qualify for the playoffs.
- Gujarat Titans
Owned by CVC Capital Partners, Gujarat Titans will enter the IPL 2023 under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya and Ashish Nehra will take the command of coaching. Hardik Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad is the venue where the Titans will contest their home matches. Lockie Ferguson who was picked at the cost of 10 crore Indian rupees is the most costly player of the club.
- Kolkata Knight Riders
Owned by Red Chillies Entertainment, Kolkata Knight Riders will participate in the IPL 2023 under the command of the Skipper Shreyas Iyer whereas Chandrakant Pandit will serve as a head coach. Venky Mysore is the CEO and Managing Director of the club whereas Wayne Bentley is the Team Manager. Abhishek Nayar and James Foster will be seen in the role of Assistant coaches.
- Lucknow Super Giants
Owned by Raghu Iyer, Lucknow Super Giants will become a part of the Tata IPL 2023 under the captaincy of KL Rahul along with Andy Flower, a head coach. In the last season of IPL, Lucknow appeared in 15 matches where they won 9 matches and faced defeat in 6 matches, thus ending in the 3rd position in the points table. BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow with a capacity of 50,000 attendees is the home ground of the Super Giants.
- Mumbai Indians
The most successful and prominent team of the IPL since 2008, Mumbai Indians will enter the tournament under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and they play their home matches at Wankhede Stadium located in Mumbai. Mumbai Indians hold the record of capturing the IPL titles 5 times but the last season was not delightful for them and they came in the last place of the points table. They could achieve victory in 4 matches only out of their 14 matches with a winning percentage of 28.57.
- Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings came into existence in 2008 and it is currently owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta, and Karan Kaul. Shikhar Dhawan played the role of skipper for the Kings in the last season of IPL. In 2023, Punjab will participate under the leadership of Dhawan along with Trevor Bayliss as a head coach. In 2022, the team could win only 7 matches from their 14 matches with a winning percentage of 50%.
- Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals, who won the inaugural title of the IPL in 2008, will enter the IPL 2023 under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, and Kumar Sangakkara will guide them as a head coach. The team plays its home matches at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The club is jointly owned by Lachlan Murdoch, Shilpa Shetty, and Gerry Cardinale. In the last season of IPL in 2022, Rajasthan Royals appeared in 17 matches where they won 10 matches and faced defeat in 7 matches.
- Royal Challengers Bangalore
Owned by United Spirits, Royal Challengers Bangalore will enter the IPL 2023 under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis along with Sanjay Bangar as a head coach. Prathamesh Mishra is the Chairperson of the club whereas Soumya Deep Pyne handles the team’s management. In the last season, the team stood in the 3rd position in the points table. Since the inception of IPL, RCB has not been able to win the IPL title for a single time and they are still waiting for their maiden IPL title.
- Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad will take part in the IPL 2023 under the coaching of Brian Lara as a head coach. Simon Helmot will play the role of assistant coach and will take care of spin-bowling coaching. In the IPL 2022, the team came to the 8th position in the points table by winning 3 matches from their 14 matches.
