There are very few personalities in cricket world who were declared Man of the Match in their debut match and Jonny Bairstow, a English player is one of them. A right handed batsman plays first class cricket for Yorkshire apart from playing for England and was born in 1989. He is a new face in English team who made his debut in 2011. He also serves as a wicket-keeper for his side. He is the son of former England’s keeper David Bairstow. He has a wonderful career of playing first class cricket including his game in year 2008 in which he scored a total of 654 runs batted with an average of 218 and for his this outstanding performance, he was chosen as the inaugural winner Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year award. In 2008, he played for Yorkshire and scored 308 runs with an average of 60. He played many superfine knocks for Yorkshire in 2010 but he couldn’t convert his any innings into maiden century. But soon enough he had a taste of his first ton in 2011 and scored 205. Jonny made his ODI debut in 2011 against India. He played a knock of 41(not out) off just 21 deliveries and helped his side in winning the match and he was declared as Man of the Match for his this innings in his first game. He has played just 7 games so far and has added nearly 120 runs in his score card with an average of 24. His best score in ODI format is 41(not out) which he made in his debut game. Bairstow played his first Test match against West Indies in 2012. He was selected to play in the warm up match of the same series and scored a fifty and took 5 catches as well in the same game. In his first match against West Indies, he played a knock of 16 but couldn’t convert this innings into a big one. He also gave his valuable contribution in other matches of the series. He was given a chance to play against South Africa in the same year and played some wonderful knocks of including an innings of 95 in 3rd match and set this figure as his best score. Jonny has played only 8 games and scored 340 runs with an average of 31. Jonny was included in 2012 ICC World Twenty20 but didn’t do well. In his first game he scored only 12 runs and scored only 1 run in his second game against India. He was also included in the England’s squad for Super 8 matches but he didn’t play impressively and led his team to lose the games and England as a result was knocked out of the tournament. Bairstow then became the member of squad for the series against India and performed well. He also took some catches in the series as well. But he was not selected in ODI and T20 squads for the same series due to the returning of Ian Bell In the series.
