Brilliant opening stand takes Zimbabwe to their 2nd win in the series - The second match of the series between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan was played in the Queens Sports club at Bulawayo. The game saw the home side winning the toss and putting up the visitors to bat first yet again. Noor Ali Zadran after scoring 13 was bowled by Tinashe Panyangara. The first wicket fell at the score of 33 in the 10th over of the match. Usman Ghani and Rahmat Shah together controlled the flow of runs and managed to get together a partnership of 61 runs. Rahmat Shah lost his wicket leaving the team to a score of 94/2 in 22nd over. The middle order of the visitors was not able to give some great contribution to the cause of scoring runs. It was Usman Ghani who scored most of the runs. Before getting out he scored 118 runs. The visitors managed to score 256 runs at the end of 50 overs. Hamilton Masakadza was the top bowler for the home team taking away 2 wickets giving only 37 runs.

The home side got a dream start to their innings. Both the openers Hamilton Masakadza and Sikandar Raza gave their team a great start. At the end of 10 overs the team managed to score 69 runs without losing any wicket. These two batsmen looked in great touch as they completed their 100 run stand in just 17 overs. They continued their batting show and both the batsmen completed their half centuries. The partnership didn’t stop here as they together had a 224 runs stand. The partnership was finally ended in the 37th over of the innings when Masakadza lost his wicket after scoring 93 runs. Raza managed to score 141 runs before getting out in the 44th over of the innings. The team came home easily thanks to some great batting by the openers. The target was accomplished in the 44th over itself thus the home team now leads the 4 match series by 2-0. Sikandar Raza for his batting performance was named as the man of the match.
