Wicket Keeper of any team holds one of the key positions in the team. He is not only responsible for stopping the runs from behind the wickets but also should have a good talent in batting. Reserving a place just for fielder in the modern day cricket is much of ask for any team be it the Zimbabwe cricket team. Regis Chakabva is a young wicket keeper who is considered as one of the good talent in the country. He is right handed batsmen and also a wicket keeper in the team.
The young player has been the part of Zimbabwe U-19 team for the Afro Asian cup in the year 2005 and it was then when his journey for the cricket started. He debuted for the first class cricket in the year 2007 for the Easterns. Before playing for the Easterns he debuted in the List A cricket team for the Northerns in the month of March same year. he has performed well when it comes to the domestic level and has made sure that he has proved his worth as batsmen scoring some good runs lower down the order.
In the year 2008 he debuted to the International cricket arena for the first time playing against Pakistan in a T20 match. this match was lost by the Zimbabwe by 7 wickets. He went unnoticed in this match but was yet again called for the ODI match against the Kenya. He performed will the bat and made his place in the team. in the year 2011 he made his debut for the team in the test side against the New Zealand during the New Zealand’s tour of Zimbabwe in the year 2011. This young talent is sure to make it great in the future.
