Mohammad Nabi is a right hand batsman of Afghanistan. Born on the 1st of January, 1985, Nabi also bowls right are off break. Nabi initially resided at Loger in Afghanistan with his family, however, his family shifted base to Peshawar in Pakistan when the Soviet War was ongoing in Afghanistan. His early days began with tennis-ball cricket sessions from the age of 10. Nabi began his cricket training at Peshawar with Arshad Khan’s Academy.
Nabi’s first First-Class match was on 10th of July 2007 at Arundel. Nabi was playing on behalf of Marylebone Cricket Club against Sri Lanka A. Sri Lanka A had won the match by 10 wickets. Nabi scored 43 runs off 76 balls in the match. His List A debut was on behalf of Pakistan Customs on 20th of March 2008 against National Bank of Pakistan at Faisalabad. Nabi picked up one wicket in this debut match. His ODI career began against Scotland on 19th April 2009. Nabi scored 52 and Afghanistan won the match by 89 runs. Nabi debuted in T20I at Colombo against Ireland on the 1st of February, 2010. Though he couldn’t score much, he had picked up one wicket.
Mohammad Nabi is one of the strongest pillars to Afghanistan’s success.Nabi was made the captain of the Afghanistan national team in the year 2013 after Nawroz Mangal. His first win as a captain was against Scotland, where Afghanistan won the first match of a two T20I series. Nabi was a part of some prominent clubs such as, Sylhet Royals, Marylebone Cricket Club, and Pakistan Customs.
Nabi is a key-player of the Afghan team.
