Samiullah Shenwari is a cricketer of the national team of Afghanistan. He is a good all-rounder who bowls leg break and is a right-handed batsman. He was born on December 31, 1987 at the Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. He began his cricketing career in 2009 when he debuted for the Afghanistan A team against Denmark A. It was soon followed by a debut in the One Day Internationals against Scotland. Just after a year, Shenwari made his T20 International debut in 2010 against Ireland.

The 27 year old Afghan cricketer is one of the most promising players of the nation and is the future of Afghanistan cricket. He was the member of the national team that has bagged the World Cricket League Division Five, Four as well as Division Three titles within a year. The successive wins ensured that the national team could play in the ICC World Cup Qualifier in 2009 and gain the status of playing in the ODIs. Shenwari also had a nice run in the domestic cricket. He has played for teams like Afghan Cheetahs, Khulna Royal Bengals and Mohammedan Sporting Club.

Shenwari partnered with Asghar Stanikzai at the Asia Cup and created a new record in the Afghanistan cricket history. They scored 164 runs which went on to become Afghanistan’s highest runs partnership for the sixth wicket. It was also for the first time that a century partnership was scored by two Afghanistan cricketers. His performance in the T20 International against Kenya in 2013 was very promising. He bagged 5 wickets in the T20 match and has made a place for himself in Afghanistan cricket by proving his talent.
