Afghanistan wins the match to be live in the series - Zimbabwe and Afghanistan today met for the third ODI match of the series in Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. This was a must win match for Afghanistan as they were already 2-0 down in a 4 match series. After winning the toss Afghanistan decided to field first. The home team lost their 1st wicket in the first ball of the 9th over.  Sikandar Raza after scoring 11 runs lost the wicket. Hamilton Masakadza and Brendan Taylor worked together a great partnership of more than 100 runs. In the 30th over of the game Masakadza after playing a great innings of 84 runs. Later Sean Williams joined the captain and scored good runs taking the team to a good score. Captain of the team Taylor got out after completing his half century. He left the team at a score of 180 runs in the 38th over. Williams managed to score 49 runs and took his team to a total of 261 runs in 50 overs. Aftab Alam was the best bowler for the visitors taking 2 wickets by giving away only 44 runs.

The visitors needed to bat well for winning this game. The Afghanistan openers started off well. They together scored 83 runs.  Usman Ghani after scoring 43 runs lost his wicket. The visitors lost 3 quick wickets and it seemed that the home side got the road to enter into the match but Samiullah Shenwari, Nasir Jamal and Mohammad Nabi together played some brilliant runs scoring 41, 28 and 42 runs respectively. But it was Dawlat Zadran who played the most important knock scoring 24 runs in just 7 balls it was him who played the knock as he took the team past the winning target with 2 balls to spare. Thus Afghanistan won the match thus the 4 match series now stands at 2-1 with a game to be played. Hamilton Masakadza won the man of the match award for his innings of 84 runs.
