West Indies would arrive in India in the month of November to play in the two test matches series. The tour is conducted between October 31 and November 27 including a 3 day warm up game. All the test matches are to be played in Mumbai and Kolkata. The first test match is to be played at Eden gardens stadium in Kolkata from Nov 6 to Nov 10 and would start at 9:00 A.M IST. Second test match between India and West Indies is scheduled from Nov 14 to Nov 18 at the Wankhede stadium Mumbai. It will start at 9:30 A.M IST. West Indies toured India in the year 2011in the winter month of November and December. The last three test match series was won by India by a margin of 2-0 and the third test match ended in a draw. It was a nail biting finish. In the last test match of the series West Indies made a total of 590 runs and Indian bowlers were sent on a leather hunt. Ashwin was the most successful bowler with five wickets while Varun Aaron took 3 wickets. India replied strongly with Virender Sehwag making 37 and Gautam Gambhir scoring 55 runs. Ashwin played a useful knock and made a century, however the Indian innings folded on 482 runs. Ravi rampaul bowled his heart out and claimed 3 wickets along with Samuels.
In the second innings West Indies did not fare well and could muster only 134 runs. Ashwin was again the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets. The total target set for India was 243 and the spectators thought that it would be a cake walk. Run chase turned out to be very thrilling because the wickets tumbled at regular intervals. Virat kohli and Virender Sehwag made half century contribution however the others were found wanting. At the end of the day India finished at 242 and the match was tie. It was a sensational finish and the West Indies side fought in an impeccable manner. They did not let India run away with the test match.
