The first test match is to be played from 6th to 10th November between India and West Indies at the Eden garden stadium in Kolkata. The match is scheduled to start at 9:00 A.M IST. The stadium was established in the year 1864 and it has a capacity of 100,000 people. The end names are high court end and the pavilion end. The last time when the two teams met in Delhi in 2011, India notched up the win by 5 wickets. Batting first West Indies were bundled out for 304 and with Chanderpaul hitting a century. Ojha was the man in form for India because he took 6 wickets. India started briskly in reply with Gautam gambhir and Sehwag firing 41 and 55 respectively. The others didn’t live up to the reputation and the innings folded on 209. It was a huge setback for the home team however they restricted the West Indies team to 180 in the second innings. The total target was 276 and India easily overhauled the score with help of 76 runs from Tendulkar. VVS lakshman chipped in with 58 runs and saw India home. It was a great victory by 5 wickets for the home team.
