The Mumbai Indians book a final date after beating Trinidad & Tobago - The 2nd Semi-final of the Champions League was played in the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium located in the capital city of India. This was a match played between the Trinidad & Tobago and Mumbai Indians. In this match the Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to field first. The Mumbai Indians got a great breakthrough in the 2nd over taking the wicket of Lendl Simmons. The happiness didn’t last long for the Indians as Evin Lewis and Darren Bravo took their team to a good start. Both the batsmen almost had a 50 run partnership. Bravo after scoring 14 runs lost his wicket. Yannick Ottley joined in Lewis to take the team to a better position. Lewis played a responsible innings scoring 62 runs. Ottley scored 41 runs in the innings and these two batsmen took their team to 153 runs in 20 overs. This was a game where every bowler from the Mumbai Indians bowled to their best.

The Mumbai Indians got off to a great start and the opening pair made sure that by the mid off the innings the team had already a foot in the final. Sachin Tendulkar and Dwayne Smith together scored 90 runs in 11 overs. This was a partnership that had half won the match for the Mumbai Indians. Later Rohit Sharma scored 25 runs and Dinesh Karthik too scored 33 runs to make sure that the team was in the final. The Mumbai Indians made it to the final by beating the Trinidad & Tobago. The team successfully chased the required runs with 5 balls remaining. Dwayne Smith scored 59 runs in the match that was the main reason for the victory and for it he was named as the man of the match.
