Dwayne Smith is a West Indian player who gives his contribution in batting and in bowling as well. The all rounder born in 1983 and plays his first class cricket for Barbados. He is a right handed batsman and right arm pace bowler plays T20 game for his side also. Smith made his domestic game debut in 2002 against Guyana but he didn’t play well as he scored just 10 and 35 runs. He scored his 1st first class ton in his fifth game against Leeward Island and in the same game, he took his maiden wicket. Season 2002-03 was a bit better for Smith and took 7 wickets at an average of 29. Smith made his Test debut in 2004 against South Africa. In the same game, Smith scored his first century when he scored 105 (not out) and became 11th West Indian to smash a ton in debut game and this figure is his best score in Test format. He has played just 10 Test games and has added nearly 320 runs with an average of 25 including single ton. He has also taken 7 wickets in his career so far. Smith played his first ODI match against the same team against which he made his Test debut and in the same series. He played very poor and finished the series with an average of 12. He has played 90 ODI matches so far and has scored nearly 1100 runs with an average of 17 which also includes 5 half centuries. In bowling department, he has taken 60 wickets at an average of 37 including single 5 wicket haul. Smith played his best series against Bangladesh and was announced Man of the Match in 2 games. In 2006, he played against New Zealand and played outstandingly with the ball and took 9 wickets in all with an average of 24. Smith made his T20 debut in the same tour, scored 9 runs and took 2 wickets but couldn’t save the game from being tied. Smith has also played T20 games in IPL tournament. In 2008 auction, he was chosen by Mumbai Indians but a year later he became the member of Deccan Chargers in the next IPL session. He played well and scored 215 runs and took just 1 wicket. But in 2012 IPL tournament, he was again included in Mumbai Indian’s squad and gave valuable contribution in the final game. Smith was also included in West Indian’s squad for Champions Trophy in 2006 and gave his little contribution in all the games with the bat and ball as well.
