India wins the series riding on Kohli’s century - After the cancellation of the 3rd ODI the Indians and the West Indies team return to the field playing in the 4th ODI of the series in Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. The match saw Indians batting first after West Indies who won the toss decided to field first. The match started off with a good opening stand between Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan. They together scored 70 runs for the 1st wicket in just 11.3 overs. Dhawan after scoring 35 runs was the first one to go. Rahane along with Virat Kohli took the game forward as he scored 68 runs in the match and lost his wicket in the 27th over of the game when the team had already reached a score of 142. Suresh Raina Joined Kohli who was knocking the ball well. These two batsmen made sure that the team never lost their bath and together took the team to a score of 280 in 44 overs. Raina after scoring 71 runs lost his wicket. Kohli continued playing his shots and in the end was able to score 127 runs taking the team to a mammoth total of 330 runs.

The West Indies team required a good solid start in order to chase the target. In 11 overs they were able to score only 27 runs losing two wickets. Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels together took the team to a score of 83 runs in 21 overs. Bravo after scoring 40 runs lost his wicket. The Indian spinners were able to take the wickets as they stalled the team to a score of 6/165 in 36 overs of the game. Andre Russell and Samuels then scored some runs making sure that the margin of the defeat was less. Russell scored 46 runs while Samuels scored 112 runs. The West Indies lost their entire wicket in 49th match and was able to score of 271. Akshar Patel took 2 wickets in his 10 overs giving away only 26 runs. Virat Kohli was named as the man of the match. the Indians now lead the series by 2-1. The last match of the series is under dilemma as it seems that West Indies team will be backing out of the tour.
