  1. Sanath Jayasuriya

Sanath Jayasuriya, a former Sri Lankan all-round performer, is standing at the top position for making the fastest century for Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League. He achieved this feat in 45 deliveries only while performing against Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural season of IPL in 2008. In the 36th match of the IPL 2008, Chennai and Mumbai faced each other in Wankhede Stadium on 14 May. Mumbai Indians won the toss and invited the Super Kings to bat first. Chennai did not start well and were at 46/4 after nine overs thanks to a masterful bowling effort from Shaun Pollock. MS Dhoni and Badrinath handled the situation and took Chennai to a total of 156 runs. Chennai had the super bowling lineup with L Balaji, Albie Morkel, and Muttiah Muralitharan who were capable to defend the total. In reply, when Mumbai came out to chase the target, Sanath Jayasuriya made an excellent effort and added unbeaten 114 runs from 48 balls that helped them to achieve the target in just 13.5 overs. The Jayasuriya’s mind-blasting inning of 114 runs brought back memories of the mid-1990s when bowlers were scared to bowl at this Sri Lankan icon. Sanath Jayasuriya was named Man of the Match and Most Valuable Player in that match.

Rohit Sharma is sitting at the 2nd position for making the fastest century in IPL for Mumbai Indians. He achieved this feat in just 52 balls while playing against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2012. In the 58th match of the Indian Premier League 2012, Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab faced each other at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 12 May. Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first but when they came to bat, they lost Sachin Tendulkar very early, then Rohit Sharma came out and handled the situation very well with Herschelle Gibbs. Both the players made 167 runs for the 2nd wicket partnership in which Rohit smashed unbeaten 109 runs from 60 balls with twelve 4s and five 6s. This partnership helped the Indians to reach a total of 182 runs. In reply, Kings XI Punjab’s batters struggled and could not maintain the required run rate and thus lost the match by 27 runs. Rohit Sharma was named the Man of the Match and Most Valuable Player in that game.

Lendl Simmons, a former West Indies batter, is listed at the number 3rd position for making the fastest century in IPL for Mumbai Indians. He made this incredible effort in just 61 balls while performing against Kings XI Punjab (Currently known as Punjab Kings) in the IPL 2014. Mumbai Indians met Kings XI Punjab in the 48th match of the IPL on 21 May 2014 in Mohali. Mumbai Indians won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first. When Punjab came out to bat, they got an average start and ultimately added 156 runs on the scoreboard. In reply, Lendl Simmons and Michael Hussey came out to chase the target and both started well. Simmons on the other hand showed his form and added unbeaten 100 runs from 61 balls. The rest of the work is completed by Ambati Rayudu, Rohit Sharma, and Keiron Pollard. Thus, Mumbai won the match by 7 wickets all thanks to Simmons's undefeated 100 runs with fourteen 4s and two 6s at a strike rate of 163.93. Lendl Simmons was named Man of the Match and the Most Valuable Player in that game.

Sachin Tendulkar, a legendary cricket of Indian cricket, is standing at the number 4th position for making the fastest century in IPL for Mumbai Indians. He made this excellent effort from 66 balls while playing against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the IPL 2011. In the 13th match of the IPL 2011, Kochi Tuskers Kerela and Mumbai Indians stood against each other at Wankhede on April 15, 2011, where Kochi Tuskers KErela decided to field first after winning the toss. While batting first, Mumbai opener Sachin Tendulkar made an outstand effort and added unbeaten 100 runs from 66 deliveries with twelve 4s and three 6s at a strike rate of 151.51. Thus, Mumbai reaced to a respectable total of 182 runs but it was not a tough target for the Kochi Tuskers Kerela and they achieved the target in 19 overs. Despite of facing the defeat in the match, Sachin Tendulkar was chosen the Most Valuable Player because of his batting performance.
