Rajasthan Royals makes it to the finals of the Champions League - The 1st semi-final of the Champions League T20 was played between the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. This was once again the match played in the home ground of Royals in the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. In the match Chennai won the toss and decided to field first. Rahul Dravid once again failed to score runs as he lost his wicket after scoring only 5 runs. Kevon Cooper played a speedy innings and lost his wicket after scoring 14 runs in 7 balls. Sanju Samson and Ajinkya Rahane once again came in the scene to score some runs once again for the team. Samson after scoring 11 runs lost his wicket leaving his team at 62/3 in 8.4 overs. Shane Watson and Rahane then continued to score the runs. Rahane scored 70 runs in the innings while Shane Watson scored 32 runs taking the team to a score of 159 in 20 overs. It was a competitive score to have in a semi-final match. Dwayne Bravo took 3 wickets in the game.

Chennai Super Kings needed 160 runs to qualify for the finals but they started of badly as in the 6th over Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay lost their wicket before the 6th over. Suresh Raina played a role of the anchor in the game but soon he too lost it and the Chennai Super Kings found themselves in danger as many wickets fell too quickly. The team came down to 72/7 in the 12.3 overs. Chris Morris and Ravichandran Ashwin tried to fight it out for the team. Ashwin scored 46 runs while Morris scored 26 runs. It was a game that was long lost and at the end the team only scored 145 runs and with this the Royals made it to the final of the Champions League for the year 2013.
