The 21st T20 match of KFC Big Bash League was played between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on 31 Dec 2020. Perth Scorchers won the toss and invited the Strikers to bat first. HNA Conway & RJ Gibson were the X-factor players for Adelaide Strikers and KR Patterson & JS Paris were selected for Perth Scorchers. Jake Weatherald and Phil Salt came to open for Strikers. Jhye Richardson got the new ball to open the bowling attack.

It was a poor start for the Strikers as they lost their couple of wickets at the score of 16 runs. Two new batsmen, Alex Carey & Matt Renshaw, were on the crease after the dismissal of both openers. Alex Carey handled the situation nicely with Renshaw and added important runs to the scoreboard for the Strikers. They made a much-needed partnership of 48 runs but Renshaw was dismissed by Hardie in the 9th over. Adelaide strikers could not come out of pressure and made 146 runs in 20 overs. Alex Carey played well and contributed 82 runs from 59 balls. Adalaide gave a target of 147 runs from 120 balls to Scorchers. Richardson bowled well and dismissed 3 wickets of the Strikers in the match.

Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone came to chase the target. Daniel Worrall got the new ball in hand. They started well and made 32 runs in the first 4 overs of powerplay without loss of any wicket. Then Wes Agar brought back into the attack and he dismissed both the openers in the same over. Roy made 49 runs and missed his fifty by one run only. Josh Inglis and Mitchell Marsh played well and completed the rest work. Scorchers easily achieved the target of 147 runs with unbeaten 44 runs of Inglis and 38 runs of Marsh.

Perth Scorchers won the match by 7 wickets with 14 balls left and Richardson was selected Man of the Match.
