Adelaide Strikers Cricket Team

Adelaide Strikers is an Adelaide city-based franchise cricket team in Australian domestic Twenty20 cricket Big Bash League (BBL). Adelaide Strikers had won the title once in BBL history under the captaincy of Travis Head. The team was founded back in BBL 2011-12. Adelaide Strikers plays their home matches at Adelaide Oval. Travis Head holds the maximum win percentage record as a captain for Adelaide Strikers.  Peter Siddle is named as the new captain of Adelaide Strikers. Rashid Khan is a key player for Adelaide Strikers. He is a match-winner and a consistent performer in the side. He has helped the team to win the match with his bowling.

Adelaide Strikers BBL Performance

2011-12

The team was first captained by Michael Klinger. They failed to impress their fans with performance and finished the season at 6th position. They won only 2 league matches out of 7.

2012-13

The franchise changed the captain of the team, and Johan Botha was assigned as captain of Adelaide Strikers. The strikers failed to qualify for knockouts and finished the season at 5th position.

2013-14

Johan Botha maintained his captaincy for Adelaide Strikers. The team consisted of quality cricketers, but they disappointed everyone with performance. They finished the season on 7th position.

2014-15

Philip Hughes also played for Adelaide Strikers. The team showed quality performance in BBL 2014-15 and finished the league stage at the top position. They failed to win the semi-final match and finished the season as a semi-finalist.

2015-16

Brad Hodge was named as captain of Adelaide Strikers in BBL 2015-16. Adelaide Strikers continued their good form and finished the league stage at the top position. They again failed to win the semi-final match and finished as a semi-finalist.

2016-17

The Strikers failed to qualify for playoffs. Brad Hodge maintained his captaincy for Strikers, but they performed poorly. They finished the season at 6th position. Adelaide Strikers won only 3 league games out of 8 games.

2017-18

The team was captained by Travis Head. This was the best season for Adelaide Strikers. They dominated throughout the journey and won their first-ever BBL title. They finished the league stage at 2nd position. They played final match against Hobart Hurricanes and won the match comfortably.  Jake Weatherald scored a ton in the finals for Strikers. Travis Head guided the team for their first-ever title.

2018-19

The defending champions Adelaide Strikers failed to continue their winning form and finished the season at 7th position. Adelaide Strikers played 14 league games in BBL 2018-19 and managed to win 8 matches and qualified for playoffs. The team was performing good but failed to win the knockout matches and finished the season at 3rd position.

2019-20

Adelaide Strikers played quality cricket in BBL 2019-20. They finished the league stage at 3rd position and won 8 matches out of 14 they played in the league stage. They qualified for playoffs but failed to win the final knockout match against Sydney Thunder and finished the season at 3rd position.

They are looking forward to having another season winning shortly.
