The first T20 match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe was played on 26th October 2015 at the Queen sports Club in BULAWAYO city. Lady Luck of the home team continued with the toss and it decided to bat first against the Afghan team. The match was notable because RASHID KHAN and USMAN GHANI from Afghanistan along with CHISORO and MASAKZAADA from Zimbabwe made their T20 debuts. SIKANDAR RAZA and CHIBHABHA opened the innings with a solid stand of 100 runs until the former was dismissed by Rashid khan for a score of 59 runs off only 49 balls. Rest of the team couldn’t capitalize on the good start and Zimbabwe could only muster 153 runs of 20 over. The only other notable contribution was 54 runs of 47 balls from CHIBHABHA. DAWLAT ZADRAM continued to be the BETE noire for the hosts as he plucked in 3 wickets for 29 runs and put the brakes on the Zimbabwe innings.

Afghanistan responded positively as the openers MOHAMMAD SHAHZAAD and USMAN GHANI added 48 runs for the first wicket. Muhammad NABI, the centurion of ODIs also contributed with swashbuckling knock of 33 runs from 29 balls. Afghanistan was in trouble when the team lost 4 wickets for 82 runs and it seemed that the hosts were having an upper hand. NABI and ZADRAN came to the rescue of the tourists with the latter firing up 37 runs from 26 balls. It was a knock laced with two huge sixes and plenty of running between the wickets. From the Zimbabwe team, CHISORO, MASAKADZA and SC ERVINE all took a wicket each however the hosts couldn’t pull of victory. They lost the match by 6 wickets when the Afghan team overhauled the target of 153runs in 19.1 over. DAWLAT ZADRAN was adjudged man of the match for his stupendous bowling performance.
