Rohit and Ambati helped Mumbai to a win against Delhi - The Mumbai Indians who are facing tough times down the table were hosting the Delhi Daredevils in the 39th match of the Indian Premiere League. This was an important match for both the teams if they wanted to be in the top 4 zone. The host team needed to win this game in order to have slightest of the chance to qualify. After winning the toss Delhi chose to bat first.

Batting first Mayank Agarwal lost his wicket in the very first ball of the match. Shreyas Iyer and Jean Paul Duminy later managed to take the team to a total of 43 runs in 5 overs. The 6th and the 7th over changed the game for the home team as they successfully took both the batsmen out. Iyer scored 19 runs while Duminy scored 28 runs before losing his wicket. Kedar Jadhav too didn’t do much with the bat as he scored only 16 runs before losing his wicket. Yuvraj Singh was the man for Delhi as he turned things around for his team. He scored 57 runs to take his team to a total of 152 runs which once looked a distant dream. He gave his bowlers something to fight for. Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh took 2 wickets each for Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians had a comparatively low score to chase. The start was not good for the team as they lost 4 wickets at a score of 40 runs in first 6 overs. Rain also interrupted the game after 4 overs but fortunately it didn’t turn into losing of overs in the game. Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu later came together to take his team out of danger. They together took the team to a score of 100 runs in 15 overs. Sharma scored 46 runs before losing his wicket while later Rayudu increased his speed and took control of the game. He remained unbeaten at 49 as the team was able to beat Delhi with 3 balls remaining.

Harbhajan was named as the man of the match while Pollard won the Yes Bank maximum sixes award.
