A great batting performance leads Red Steel’s to a victory against Amazon Warriors - Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel’s hosted the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 11th match of the Caribbean Premiere League. Thematch saw the Red Steel’s win the toss and was fielding first. Martin Guptill failed to perform yet again as he lost his wicket in the 2nd over of the game. Mohammad Hafeez also lost his wicket after scoring 1 run. Lendl Simmons did much of the scoring and looked dangerous he scored 21 runs and lost his wicket in the 6th over leaving the team at 27/3. Denesh Ramdin and Jimmy Neesham added up much of the runs for the 4th wicket. Ramdin scored 84 runs in 45 balls and lost his wicket in the 18th over leaving his team at 149 runs. Christopher Barnwell came in and played an innings to score some real fast runs scoring 23 runs in 8 balls. This innings took their team to a score of 179 runs at the end of 20 overs. Samuel Badree was the best bowler for the team taking 3 wickets giving away only 13 runs.

Red Steel’s didn’t start the chase pretty good. They lost the first 3 wickets in the first 4 overs of the innings. Darren Bravo and Dwayne Bravo together added 131 runs for the 4th wicket. They were the players who played well in order to bring the team back in the match. Dwayne Bravo scored 67 runs in 42 balls and lost his wicket in the 17th over of the game. Nicolas Pooran scored 16 runs in just 9 balls. The last over of the game required 9 runs to win the game and Red Steels were successful in scoring the winning run in the last ball of the match. Darren Bravo scored an unbeaten 69 runs. Krishmar Santokie took 3 wickets giving away 36 runs in his 4 overs. Darren bravo was selected as the man of the match award.
