Zimbabwe wins an ODI against Australia after 31 years - The 4th match of the tri series was played between the home side Zimbabwe and Australia. The Zimbabwe team was pretty close to win the match against South Africa last time and the home crowd hoped that this time around they will be victorious. After winning the toss the Australians decided to bat first. They didn’t get to a good start as they were left at a score of 97/5. Only Michael Clarke who remained focused in the batting. The Zimbabwe team was on a role as the bowlers kept on taking wickets. Michael Clarke scored 68 runs before getting retired out in the 43rd over of the game leaving his team to a total of 147/5. Brad Haddin scored 49 runs while Ben Cutting made a special contribution to the team as with his runs the team managed to score 209 runs in 50 overs. Sean Williams was the top bowler who took 2 wickets giving away 21 runs.

The Zimbabwe team looked all pumped up after the good bowling performance. In the 23rd over of the game the team managed to cross the score of 100 after losing 3 wickets. It seemed that the result of the previous match will again be repeated as Zimbabwe lost many wickets similar to what happened against South Africa. The team found themselves standing at 156/7. It was Elton Chigumbura and Prosper Utseya who together managed to stop the fall of wickets. Chigumbura scored an unbeaten 52 runs and Utseya scored 30 runs. They together took their team to win against Australia. This win came after 31 years for the home side. Nathan Lyon took 4 wickets in the game. Elton Chigumbura won the man of the match award for scoring the winning runs.
