Mumbai have witnessed a unbelievable match between MUMBAI INDIANS and RAJASTHAN ROYALS. This was the last match of the group stage of the IPL 7 and probably it was the best match of IPL 2014. Last night it was KKR performed astonishingly and tonight it’s MUMBAI. MI needed 190 runs on their board in 14.2 overs to qualify for the Playoff but in the near end of the second innings they managed to score 189 runs in 14.3 overs, still after that Mumbai had a chance to do the unbelievable job and that was to hit SIX in the 4th balls of the 15th over.

Aditya Tare (W) was in the crease at that time with the bat and James Faulkner with the ball, Faulkner bowled a full-toss and bang it was smashed for SIX, and all of a sudden Aditya Tare became the hero for MI and normally Faulkner the villain for RR. Most importantly Corey Anderson single handedly carried away the innings for MI, this was the kind of performance Mumbai fans had been waiting to see from him. By clinching all three awards in the match he scored 95 runs in just 44 balls. Ambati Rayudu played a short but the most useful innings of 30 runs in just 10 balls.

Earlier in the match Sanju Samson (W) and Shane Watson (C) opened the innings for Rajasthan but the decision of opening for Watson didn’t work at all as he fell early by scoring only 8 runs in 18 balls. After that Samson and Karun Nair the two young man made an exceptional partnership to put up a very good score of 189 runs in the board, as they both scored 74 runs of 47 balls and 50 runs of 27 balls respectively. James Faulkner (23 of 12 balls) and Brad Hodge (29 of 16 balls) yet again produced some quick runs in the end but who thought Mumbai would be able to chase the target in 14.4 overs proving impossible is just another word.

There’s nothing much to talk about the bowlers in this match, however in the first innings Jasprit Bumrah, Harbhajan Singh, Shreyas Gopal and Kieron Pollard shared the 4 wickets of RR equally. And when it comes to RR bowlers it’s better not to say anything as Dhawal Kulkarni claimed 2 wicket but with the economy rate of 14.00. Every other bowler of RR bowled their spell with the economy rate of over 9.00. Every cricket fans will remember this match probably for the life time and special thanks to crowd of the Mumbai, who else would have thought in spite of losing 5 games in the very beginning, they would qualify for the Playoff.
