Most Expensive Player IPL 2020

Snapped by a jaw-dropping 15.5 crores INR, Pat Cummins set the temperatures soaring in the recent IPL 2020 auction by being the costliest player (overseas) ever in the journey of Indian Premier League. The fiery Aussie pacer was signed up by Kolkata Knight Riders with whom the player had his stint in both 2014 and 2015 IPL tournaments. In fact, he was a part of one of the winning series of KKR and is looking forward to seize the third win for his team this year as well.

Cummins was followed by another Aussie great Glenn Maxwell who was won by Kings XI Punjab with a whopping 10.75 crore INR. Interestingly, the Aussie big-hitter was the costliest purchase in 2013 edition of IPL auction when Mumbai Indians bagged him with a solid I million USD. The next year Preity Zinta’s team roped him in with 6 crores INR. But, in 2018, it was Delhi Capitals who won him with 9 crores INR. However, Maxwell is again back to the Punjab turf this time.

While Maxwell is the second costliest player this time, the third one is South-African fast bowler and all-rounder Chris Morris who was bought (10 crores INR) by Royal Challengers Bangalore. The other two teams that squabbled for Morris were Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab but it was RCB who had the last smile.

The fourth most expensive player at the auction is West Indies all-rounder Sheldon Cottrell who was roped in by Kings XI Punjab for 8.5 crores INR.

Another dynamic Aussie player, Nathan Coulter-Nile, is the 5th most expensive player at IPL 2020. The star spacer has been signed in by Mumbai Indians for 8 crores INR.

The 6th most expensive player at IPL 2020 is West Indies’ one of the most promising talents ShimronHetmyer. He has been roped in by Delhi Capitals for 7.75 crore INR.

Both the 7th and 8th most expensive players in IPL 2020 has been signed by Chennai Super Kings. The 7th name is Indian all-rounder Piyush Chawla (6.75 crores INR) while the 8th one is English all-rounder Sam Curran (5.50 crore INR).

The 9th costliest player in the 2020 IPL is England cricket team’s ODI captain Eoin Morgan. The celebrated skipper of the World cup winning team has been signed in by KKR for 5.25 crore INR.

The 10th most expensive buy at the 2020 IPL auction is Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis who was roped in by Delhi Capitals by 4.80 crore INR.
