Fastest Century in PSL

Introduced in 2015, the Pakistan Super League is an elite Twenty20 cricket competition. Throughout the years, the tournament has grown tremendously in prominence and served as a stage for both aspiring and seasoned players to show off their ability to play. Because a cricketer has less time to accumulate runs during a T20 match, getting 100 runs is significantly more difficult. Additionally, participants that rack up quick centuries typically put out stronger individual efforts during games.

Achieving a century in the Twenty-20 competition is never simple, however in the Pakistan Super League, we have witnessed some exceptional T20 batsmen attain this remarkable achievement. The fastest centuries have been vital in any format of the games. The surface of the pitch, batting control, and strike rate are important in reaching a quick century, among other things. Clubs that score quickly have a better winning rate, and individuals who reach this milestone are also more successful.

Even though the PSL has only been running for a brief period, we have already witnessed some amazing batting exploits.  Usman Khan got the PSL's fastest century in just 36 balls during the 2023 season. So, let’s check out those players who made the fastest century in PSL:

1. Usman Khan

Usman Khan, a batter of Multan Sultans is standing at the top position for making the fastest century in PSL. He made this effort by hitting 120 runs off only 43 balls and contributed significantly to Multan's 262-run total for the game. Additionally, on Friday (March 10), he beat his fellow player Rilee Roussow's milestone for the quickest hundred in PSL history by striking a hundred in just 41 balls.

In the beginning, he did not get many opportunities in the cricketing world so he decided to move out of Pakistan and went to UAE in search of a job. Then, eventually, he got the chance to show off his talent in domestic T20 cricket. Usman Khan, who was born on May 10, 1995, performed his first T20 match on March 3, 2021, for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. Usman received a contract from the Chattogram Challengers in November 2022 to make appearances for them in the Bangladesh Premier League for the years 2022–2023. He scored 103 runs from only 58 balls against the Khulna Tigers on January 9, 2023, registering his debut century in T20 cricket, helping his squad to their initial triumph of the competition by nine wickets.

2. Rilee Rossouw

Rilee Rossouw, a South African left-handed batter, is standing at the number 2 position for making the fastest century in PSL. He achieved this feat in 41 balls only while playing against Peshawar Zalmi at Rawalpindi in the 2023 season. Rilee Rossouw, a left-handed free-striker with quick hands initially gained prominence in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup. Born on 9 October 1989, he made his T20 debut against Australia at Adelaide Oval, on Nov 05, 2014, where he struck a match winning 78 runs from just 50 balls. At the international level, he has participated in 29 matches where he has added 767 at a strike rate of 159.79 with his best 109 runs. Rossouw's global journey came to a halt on January 5, 2017, when he accepted a Kolpak agreement with Hampshire County Cricket Association, disqualifying him from participating in South Africa. His final international cricket performance before making a comeback was a 122 at the Newlands Cricket Ground as South Africa defeated Australia in a 5-0 rout, earning him Player of the Series honors.

He was also a member of the Multan Sultans team that captured the PSL 6 championship in 2021. Rossouw struck a lightning-quick fifty in the decisive game in only 21 balls.
