The 2nd One Day International match of the West Indies vs Sri Lanka 2021 series was played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on 12 March 2021. West Indies captain, Kieron Pollard won the toss and decided to have the ball in hand first. West Indies were unchanged and came out to the middle with their winning playing 11. Danushka Gunathilaka and Dimuth Karunaratne came out to the middle and Alzarri Joseph got the new ball in hand to open the attack.

The Lanka squad lost the first wicket of Dimuth Karunaratne at the low score of 7 runs in 2.2 overs. At the end of the first mandatory Powerplay, SL had scored 51 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. Then Dinesh Chandimal at the number 5 position handled the situation with Danushka Gunathilaka and had made a crucial partnership of 100 runs. Danushka Gunathilaka and Dinesh Chandimal completed their fifties from 48 and 79 balls. Danushka Gunathilaka completed his 10th and Dinesh Chandimal completed his 23rd half centuries that helped Sri Lanka to reach the defending total of 273 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. PWH de Silva at the number 8 position also struck some great shots and made 47 runs from 31 balls. Jason Mohammed took 3 wickets and Alzarri Joseph got 2 wickets in the match for West Indies. WI got the target of 274 runs to win the 2nd ODI match of the series WI vs SL.

Evin Lewis and Shai Hope were sent on the crease to chase the target and Nuwan Pradeep got the responsibility to deliver the first over. Both the opener of WI gave a nice start and had completed 57 runs at the end of the first mandatory Powerplay. Opening batsman Evin Lewis performed very well and completed his 4th century in that match. Shai Hope also supported him nicely and had made an opening record partnership of 192 runs in 37.2 overs. Both the openers were looking good with the bat and Sri Lanka needed a breakthrough. Lakshan Sandakan got the first breakthrough of Evin Lewis for Lanka but Lewis had done his job and its had been too late for the SL. Hope was also dismissed by Perera in the very next over. Shai completed his 18th fifty in that match and scored 84 runs from 108 balls. The rest of the work was completed by Nicholas Pooran and contributed 35 runs. WI got the nice start that helped them to achieve the target very comfortable in 49.4 overs and won the match. Nuwan Pradeep and Thisara Perera got 2 wickets each but that could not dominate the Indies batsmen.

West Indies won the 2nd ODI match of WI vs SL series 2021 by 5 wickets with 2 balls remaining and Evin Lewis was named Man of the Match.
