Thisara Parera is a Sri Lankan player who born in 1989. He has given his contribution to his side internationally in Test, ODI and T20 formats. Apart from international game, he also plays domestic cricket for Colts Cricket Club and Wayamba Wolves. A left-handed batsman and right arm medium pace bowler represents his team being an all-rounder. Parera played his 1st first class debut in 2008. Internationally, Parera made his debut in 2009 when he played ODI game against India. He has given his contribution in 60 matches so far and has added just 500 runs with an average of 16. As compared to batting, Parera has performed much well with the ball and has taken 75 wickets with a bowling average of 27. Parera smashed his first fifty against South Africa and scored 69 off just 44 deliveries. He performed best with the ball against Pakistan in 2012 when he sent 6 Pakistanis back to the pavilion after conceding 44 runs. Parera’s first 5 wicket haul came in 2010 against India and he was declared Man of the Match for his this outstanding performance. When it comes to his Test career, he played his first match in 2011 against England but he couldn’t impress much with the bat and the ball. Parera has played just 6 Test matches as yet and has scored 200 runs with an average of 20 including single fifty. In bowling department, he has taken 11 wickets with bowling average of 60. Parera was a member of Sri Lankan squad for 2011 World Cup and he played in the final game against India. He scored 22 runs off just 10 balls and also took one wicket that too of Gautam Ghambir. Parera made his international debut in T20 format in 2010 ICC World Twenty20 tournament when he played against Zimbabwe. Parera’s first hat-trick in ODI came in 2012 against Pakistan. In the 4th game, he took hat-trick and registered himself as the first person to do this against Pakistan. Parera has represented three teams in IPL tournament. First, he was a part of Chennai Super Kings in 2010 IPL season. But in 2012, he was chosen by Mumbai Indians and became the member of Sunrisers Hyderabad in next season of IPL a year later.
