The 2nd T20I match of India vs England 2021 series was played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 14 March 2021. England was leading the Ind vs Eng series 2021 by 1-0. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav made their T20I debut for India in that match in place of Shikhar Dhawan and Axar Patel. Indian captain, Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to have the bowl in hand first. England was all set with their power hitter batsmen and Jason Roy & Jos Buttler came out to the middle to open. Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the new ball in hand to deliver the first over.

The England team did not get a good start and lost the first wicket of Jos Buttler at the score of 1 run only in the very first over of Bhuvi. After the dismissal, Dawid Malan came to join Jason Roy. At the end of the first Powerplay, English batsmen had made 44 runs and added the first 50 runs on the scoreboard in 6.5 overs. Both of them tried well to handle the situation and had made a first wicket partnership of 63 runs. Afterward, Chahal got the 2nd wicket for his team and broke the partnership that could have caused huge damage for India in the match. Then Jonny Bairstow at the number 4th position contributed 20 runs from 15 balls but after the dismissal of Jason Roy in the 11.1 overs, he also could not stay longer and was sent back by the Indian bowler. There were some small partnerships made by England batsmen that helped them to reach a total of 164 runs. Jason Roy played well and contributed 46 from 35 balls at the strike rate of 131.43, on the other hand, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur got 2 wickets each for his team. Indian bowlers did well and stopped the England team at the score of 164 runs. India needed 165 runs from 120 balls to win the Eng vs Ind series 2nd T20 in 2021.

KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan were sent on the crease to chase the target and Sam Curran got the new ball. Like Eng, Ind also failed to have a good start and lost the first of KL Rahul at the score of 0 runs only. England got the start of what they were looking for. Indian captain, Virat Kohli came at the number three position and had made a crucial partnership of 94 runs with Ishan Kishan. Ishan Kishan was fabulous with his bat as he made the half-century in his debut and that was a big and also emotional moment for Kishan because he dedicated that inning to his father who just passed away some days ago. He made 56 runs from 28 balls with five 4s and four 6s. Indian batsmen dominated England bowlers in the match after losing the first wicket at 0 runs and maintained the run rate. The rest of the work was completed by Virat, who struck a match-winning and unbeaten inning of 73 runs from 49 balls at the strike rate of 148.98. India did not have any difficulty achieving the target and got it in 17.5 overs with 13 balls remaining. Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, and Adil Rashid got 1 wicket each.

India won the 2nd T20 match of Ind vs Eng series 2021 by 7 wickets and Ishan Kishan was named Man of the Match.
