S Masood and Abid Ali opened the inning for Pakistan team. They failed to give a good start to the team, and S Masood got out on duck to Tim Southee. Abid Ali made 5 runs and made a good partnership of 62 runs for 2nd wicket with Azhar Ali. Azhar Ali played a brilliant inning for Pakistan. He scored most 93 runs for Pakistan. Azhar Ali was looking good between the wickets, but unfortunately, he left 7 runs short to his century. Pakistan captain M Rizwan also played good inning and made 61 runs. Faheem Ashraf also made 48 runs and helped Pakistan to get a total of 297 runs in 1st inning. Kyle Jamieson bowled brilliantly for New Zealand. He took most 5 wickets for his team.
Tom Latham and T Blundell opened the inning for New Zealand. They made an opening partnership of 52 runs. Tom Latham scored 33 runs, and T Blundell made only 16 runs. Ross Taylor got out early on 12 runs but New Zealand's best batsman Kane Williamson played captain’s knock. He scored a double century for New Zealand. Kane Williamson made a brilliant partnership with Henry Nicholls of 369 runs for 4th wicket. Henry Nicholls also scored a century. Kane Williamson made most 238 runs, and Henry Nicholls made 157 runs for New Zealand. They made batting look so easy. D Mitchell also showed his class and made not out 102 runs in just 112 balls. New Zealand declared their inning on 659/6. New Zealand team took a lead of 362 runs in the match.
S Masood and Abid Ali came to open the inning for Pakistan in 2nd inning. S Masood failed to open his account in the 2nd inning also and got out on a duck in both innings. Abid Ali made 26 runs. Pakistan’s top scorer of 1st inning Azhar Ali could make only 37 runs in 2nd inning. Captain M Rizwan also got out on 10 runs and Pakistan team could not handle the pressure of big runs by New Zealand. Pakistan team got all out on 186 runs in the 2nd inning. Kyle Jamieson took most 6 wickets in 2nd inning. He took 11 wickets in the match and won player of the match award. New Zealand won the match by an inning and 176 runs.
