The 11th match of the CPL 2020 was played between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Barbados Tridents on August 25, Tuesday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots captain Rayad Emrit won the toss and elected to field first.
Barbados Tridents openers Johnson Charles and Shai Hope made a partnership of 50 runs. They gave a good and steady start to team. Corey Anderson also scored 31runs in just 19 balls in middle of the inning. Ashley Nurse also scored 25 runs in 17 balls and helped team to put a total of 151 runs in their 20 over. Jon-Russ Jaggesar took 2 wickets by giving only 17 runs in his 4 over for St Kitts and Nevis. Captain Emrit also bowled brilliantly and took 1 wicket by showing very good economical performance. It was a target of 152 runs for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to win the game.
Chris Lynn and Evin Lewis opened the innings for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Chris Lynn got out early by scoring 16 runs but Evin Lewis guided the team to its 1st victory of CPL 2020. Evin Lewis played a brilliant match winning inning of 89 runs in 60 balls. D Ramdin also scored 20 runs. Ben Dunk finished the inning and made not out 22 runs in just 11 balls and helped team to win the match. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the game by 6 wickets with 3 balls to spare.
It was a very important win for St Kitts campaign. Evin Lewis was selected as player of the match for his brilliant match winning knock. St Kitts captain looked happy and satisfied with the team performance and with their first victory of season 2020. It was a tough day for Barbados Tridents fan. The team did not give their best in the game.
