The finale match of CPL 2020 was played between Trinbago Knight Riders and St Lucia Zouks on September 10, Thursday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. The Trinbago Knight Riders team was unbeaten in this CPL. It was the 1st CPL final of St Lucia Zouks. Kieron Pollard captained the Trinbago Knight Riders in final and Darren Sammy was the captain of St Lucia Zouks. Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first.
R Cornwall and M Deyal opened the inning for St Lucia Zouks. R Cornwall got out early but wicket-keeper batsman A Fletcher and M Deyal made 67 runs partnership for 2nd wicket. A Fletcher made 39 runs. R Chase also helped team to get good score and made 22 runs in 14 balls. N Zadran also made 24 runs. St Lucia Zouks made 154 runs and got all out in 19.1 over. Captain Kieron Pollard took 4 wickets on the night of final. It was a target of 155 runs for Trinbago Knight Riders to win the CPL 2020.
Lendl Simmons opened the inning with T Webster for the last time in CPL 2020. T Webster got out early but Simmons made not out 84 runs and showed why he is a player of big matches. Darren Bravo also made not out 58 runs and Trinbago Knight Riders won the game by 8 wickets in 18.1 over. Lendl Simmons and Darren Bravo made a not out match winning partnership of 138 runs. They both played good cricket under pressure and helped Trinbago Knight Riders to win its 4th CPL title. This was a dream season for Trinbago Knight Riders. They remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.
