Kolkata Knight Riders March into the semi’s banking on spinners - The 10th Oppo Champions League T20 match was played between two good teams who had spin as their supreme power. It was a match between the IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Australian team Perth Scorchers. It was a match played in the Hyderabad and if the Knight Riders won this match it would have led them to the Semi Final of the Champions league. After winning the toss the Scorchers decided to bat first.

The opening pair of Adam Voges and Craig Simmons gave their team a good solid start in the match. They together took their team to a total of 68 runs in 9 overs. During the process Simmons lost his wicket after scoring39 runs in 30 balls. Kuldeep Yadav the young china man bowler did the trick for the Knights as he took the 2nd wicket for the team in the form of Mitchell Marsh. Sam Whiteman played a small cameo of 21 runs but lost his wicket to Sunil Narine. It was once again the spin bowlers for the Knights who chipped in with wickets and thus restricted the Perth Scorchers to a score of 151 runs. Adam Voges was the star batsman as he scored 71 runs in 52 balls and remained unbeaten. The young Kuldeep Yadav registered 3 wickets giving away runs at 6 per over and Narine took 4 wickets giving away runs at 7.75 runs per over.

The Knight Riders had a poor start as they lost 3 wickets in the first 6 overs. Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey tried to build the innings but they both failed as Knights struggled at 87/5 in 14 overs. Yusuf Pathan and Suryakumar Yadav were the men who tried steering their team close to the total. In the 18th over Pathan was caught on the boundary line when he had scored only 21 runs. The difference in the match was Suryakumar Yadav who scored 43 runs in 19 balls. He made the match turn by hitting two sixes in last two balls of the 19th over. It was these hits which took Kolkata Knight Riders to a win in the match. This match took their winning streak to 12 wins which is a new domestic record in India.

With this win the Knight Riders reached the top of table in Group A and qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament. Suryakumar Yadav won Suzuki Gixxer Power Player for hitting maximum sixes while Kuldeep Yadav was selected as the Oppo Man of the match. Both the players won USD 2500 as prize money.
