T20 World Champion, Australia will welcome West Indies in the month of October 2022 in order to play 2 T20I matches bilateral series. Though the tour will not be longer it would play an important role in the preparation of the T20 World Cup for the Windies. Australia vs West Indies T20I series will commence with the first T20I Carrara Oval on 5th October 2022, Queensland and then the series will conclude with the last match at the same ground on 7th October.
From the West Indies side, Nicholas Pooran will handle the responsibility of captain under the mentorship of coach Phil Simmons whereas Aaron Finch is the current captain of Australia, so most probably he would lead the Aussies in the upcoming T20 series. Both the skippers have played more than 50 T20I matches so there is no shortage of experience for them. Finch has scored more than 2500 runs whereas Pooran has also struck more than 1000 runs in the shortest format of the game.

On the basis of ranking, nobody can predict who will dominate the opposition as both teams are filled with top-class big hitters, moreover, West Indies has become T20 World Champion two times.
In terms of head to head, both the teams have faced each other in the 17 T20 matches where West Indies ruled over Australia on the field by winning 10 matches whereas Australia could achieve victory in 7 matches. As of June 2022, Australia has appeared in 159 T20 matches where they achieved success in 83 matches and lost 70 matches. On the other hand, West Indies has taken part in 159 T20 matches where they won 66 and faced defeat in 81 matches.
This Australia vs West Indies T20 series 2022 will be crucial for both the squad ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 which will also be held in Australia. In the last T20 World Cup in 2021, West Indies could not perform well and did not make it to the knockout round, on the other hand, the Australian players gave their best and lifted the World Cup.
