South Africa has a busy schedule after the ICC T20 World Cup as they will host the Netherlands, then India, and Bangladesh. Currently, Temba Bavuma is the running captain of the South Africa ODI team and Pieter Seelaar is the captain of the Netherlands. The last 4 head to head One Day International matches between South Africa and the Netherlands were won by South Africa. The last ODI was played at Amstelveen on May 31 2013 where South Africa won by 83 runs. The Netherlands does not have a very nice record against South Africa and playing against Africa at their home has never been easy for any cricket team.
Presently, the Netherlands stands at the 11th position in the ICC ODI ranking and South Africa is sitting at the 5th position. South Africa has a strong batting lineup and good pacers whereas the Netherlands is short of experienced players but they will try their best and also have a great chance to learn from this upcoming ODI series in South Africa. Playing against a team that is packed with lots of talented and experienced crickets is a good opportunity for the Netherlands to develop and sharpen their cricket. It would be interesting to watch how the Netherlands will perform on the fast and bouncing pitch of Africa.
