England is set to face off against Australia on their soil in July 2020. Australia’s tour of England will see a total of three ODI’s and three T20 matches played. The first T20 match will commence on the 3rd of July 2020 at Riverside Ground, in Chester-le-Street, and the second on the 5th of July 2020 at Old Trafford, in Manchester and the third on the 7th of July 2020 at Headingley, in Leeds.
The Australians will visit England on the back of a surprisingly outstanding run of form against New Zealand. Their batting line up consists of hard hitters and their bowlers are fierce. England, on the other hand, will have experience on their side. They know their pitches in and out, many players from their squad have been regular players on these pitches. They will also have the support of their fans at home but with support comes high expectations as the Englishmen hate to lose against the Aussies.
It will mark the fourth successive winter that the Aussies have played on British soil which includes the 2017 Champions Trophy, Australia’s tour of England in 2018 and the Ashes season. In the August of 2019, the England Cricket Board announced their cricket team’s schedule that consists of matches against West Indies, Pakistan, Ireland as well as the Aussies.
The English will have to thrive to set up a good squad and improve their form against the Aussies at home. The Aussies will come with all guns blazing as they will face off the English and prove their dominance ahead of the t20 World Cup which they will host. Out of the 17 T20 matches played in between them, Australia won 9 matches and England won 6. 2 of the matches were drawn. Let us all expect fierce rivalry and great competition.
