West Indies former skipper, Viv Richards holds the record of making the fastest century in Test for West Indies. He added this feat in 56 balls while performing against England at St John's in 1985-86. During England’s visit to the West Indies, both nations met for the 5th test where Viv Richards scored unbeaten 110 runs in 58 balls. 

 

2. Shivnarine Chanderpaul

Shivnarine Chanderpaul is listed in the 2nd position for hitting the fastest century in Test cricket for West Indies. He made this significant contribution in 69 balls while playing against Australia in Georgetown in 2002-03. During Australia’s tour to the West Indies, both teams gathered in Georgetown to play the 1st test. While batting first, West Indies batter Shivnarine Chanderpaul added the 100 runs of his test career in the first innings.

 

3. Chris Gayle

West Indies former batter, Chris Gayle is sitting at the 3rd position for adding the fastest hundred in Test for West Indies. He made this effort in 70 balls only in the match against Australia in Perth in 2009. West Indies went to Australia to play a test series where both nations met for the 3rd test in Perth. During the match, Gayle opened the batting for West Indies in the first innings and struck 102 runs including the fastest hundred of his test career.

 

4. Roy Fredericks

Roy Fredericks comes in 4th place for contributing the fastest century in a Test for West Indies. He added this incredible innings in 71 balls while playing against Australia in Perth in 1975-76. West Indies visited Australia to play the test series where they met for the 2nd test. West Indies in the first innings added a winning total of 585 runs due to Fredericks’s outstanding 169 runs in just 145 balls.

 

5. Brian Lara

Brian Lara is sitting at the number 5th position for adding the fastest 100 in Test cricket for West Indies. He achieved this incredible feat in just 77 balls while performing against Pakistan in Multan in 2006-07. West Indies went to Pakistan to play a test series where both the squads met in order to contest the 2nd test. West Indies batter Brian Lara played incredibly in the 1st innings and added 216 runs including his fastest century in test.
