Bangladesh cements there place after beating England - The 33rd match of the World Cup 2015 was one of the most important matches for Pool A. this match was a fate decider for England. They needed to win this match against Bangladesh so as to make sure that they survive in the tournament. On the other a win in this match for Bangladesh would have guaranteed their qualification to the last 8 of the group stage. In this all important match England won the toss and decided to field first.

Batting first Bangladesh got off to a poor stat as they lost both their openers pretty early. In the 3rd over of the game both the openers Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes were back to pavilion after scoring 2 runs each. Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah were the two new batsmen on crease and they needed to play with high level of maturity to ensure that their team had all the chance in this match. Both of them performed when it was required the most. Soumya scored 40 runs and took his team to a score of 94 before losing his wicket. Mushfiqur Rahim joined Mahmudullah and they together took their team to a score of 275 runs in the end of 50 overs. Mahmudullah scored 103 runs while Rahim scored 89 runs.

The score of 275 was a competitive one and English side lost Moeen Ali after a good start. He scored 19 runs before losing his wicket. Ian Bell and Alex Hales gave the team a good support in the middle. They took their team to a score of 97 where Hales after scoring 27 runs lost his wicket. Bell continued his batting and scored 63 runs. In the 27th over Rubel Hossain changed the course of the match by taking both Bell and Eoin Morgan in the same over. The wickets started to fall quickly for England and Bangladesh had an upper hand in the game. Jos Buttler tried to win it for England as he scored 65 runs accompanied by Chris Woakes who played an innings of 42. Rubel did his work once again and Bangladesh won the match by 15 runs. Mahmudullah was named as the man of the match as Bangladesh cemented their place in the Quarter finals of this year’s world cup.
