Ian Ronald Bell, well known by Ian Bell is a English player who plays for England born in 1982. The right handed middle order batsman is tagged by THE TIMES as an Exquisite Rapier. He not only gives his contribution for his team in bating but in bowling also when needed. He is the player who has scored tons against all the current Test playing countries. 31 years old player not only plays internationally but also enjoy county cricket for Warwickshire County Cricket Club. Bell got a chance to play First Class cricket for the first time in 1999 but unfortunately scored no run and went for duck. But in 2001 when Bell was included in Warwickshire squad again, he scored 840 runs with the help of his two superlative tons and two knocks of 98 in 16 innings. When he was just of 19, he became the ever youngest player of the country who scored century when he played a knock of 130 against Oxford UCCE. When it comes to his international career, he made his debut in Test matches against West Indies in 2004, played the game at number 5 and hit an innings of 70. He has played a total of nearly 80 Test matches and has made about 5600 runs with his bat with an average of 47. He made his first double century of 235 against India in 2011 when England inflicted a 4-0 whitewash and made this figure as his best score in Test format. Bell has also given his approbatory contribution to English team through 17 tons and 34 fifties in Test format. In Ashes 2006/07, Bell played well and scored a total of 330 runs with an average of 33 which also included four half centuries. In the series he failed to convert good start into big knocks and unfortunately the team had to suffer a 5-0 whitewash that year. Bell’s poor performance continued in the same title in 2009 also and didn’t do well. As far as his international ODI career is considered, he has played a total of 120 matches so far and has added about 3800 runs in his ODI score card batted with an average of 36 including only 3 tons and 23 fifties. Bell not only made his highest score against India but in ODI format also against the same team when he played a superfine knock of 126*. In ICC World Cup 2011, Bell played a knock of 69 against Indian team but could not save the match from being tied. When it comes to bowling domain, he hasn’t got much success so far. He has taken only a single wicket in Test format and 6 in ODI format with an average of 76 and 15.
