Australia cruise to the 1st victory in the 2015 World Cup - The 2nd match of the World Cup 2015 was again a Pool A match to be played between Australia and arch rivals England. It was a match that had all the potential of being a cracker of the game as England emerged a good side during the warm up games. Australia on the other hand is hot favorites to win the cup this year. In the match after winning the toss it was England who decided to field first.

Batting first David Warner and Aaron Finch scored 57 runs for the 1st wicket in just 7.3 overs. Warner after scoring 22 runs was bowled out by Stuart Broad.  Shane Watson and Steven Smith failed to score runs as they lost their wicket at 0 and 5 respectively. It was Finch who continued to score runs easily as George Bailey helped him in regaining the lost momentum. Finch after scoring a mammoth 135 runs lost his wicket in 37th over of the game leaving the team at a score of 216/4. Glenn Maxwell on the other hand started firing all his guns and scored 66 runs in just 40 balls. Bailey was able to score 55 runs and with this the Australians posted 342 runs in 50 overs. Steven Finn the English bowler was able to take 5 wickets and hence was able to restrict Australia to a score of 342 else it would have been worse.

England had a huge target in sight and required some good batting to be able to register their 1st win in Pool A. Mooen Ali and Ian Bell failed to provide a good start to the team as they were able to score only 25 runs for the 1st wicket. Ali after scoring 10 runs was the 1st to go. Gary Ballance too scored 10 runs before leaving his team at 49/2 in 10th over. Ian Bell was the next man to go as he scored only 36 runs.
