Hafeez fiery fifty sends Hawksbills packing home - Antigua Hawksbills hosted the Guyana Amazon Warriors in their last league stage match of the Caribbean Premiere League. it was a must win game for the Hawksbills as win in this match would give them a slight chance of qualification. On the other hand a win in this match would have taken the Warriors to the top of the table. After winning the toss the home side decided to bat first and from the word go it was all out attack from the home side. the team scored 97 runs in 13 overs losing only 2 wickets. the team got a solid from the top 3 batsman and it was the task of the middle order to take the team ahead. The middle order clicked and took the total to 166 runs losing 6 wickets in the process. Kieran Powell was the top scorer for the team scoring 47 runs. KrishmarSantokie played a big role in stopping the run flow as he took 3 wickets giving away only 19 runs.

The chase didn’t start off well as Martin Guptill was retired hurt in the 5th over of the game. Lendl Simmons and Trevon Griffith carried on the run scoring process for the team but was not fruitful for the team as scoring rate was pretty low. At the end it was Mohammad Hafeez who changed the path of the game. He scored a brilliant half century in just 23 balls. the team needed 1 run of the last bowl and Hafeez hit it to the boundary thus winning the game for his team. with this loss the Hawksbills were sent packing. Gavin Tonge was the lone bowler who tried. Hafeez was rightly named the man of the match for his blasting innings of 50 runs.
