Amazon Warriors win their second match thanks to Simmons batting - The Guyana Amazon Warriors played their second home game against Jamaica Tallawahs. After winning the toss the home side put the Tallawahs into batting. After electing to bowl first the home side had a great start taking 3 major wickets in the first 8 overs. The 3 wickets also included the all-important wicket of Chris Gayle. The visitors only managed to score 36 runs in the first 8 overs. The pressure was maintained by the home side as by the end of 10 overs the Tallawahs lost 5 wickets. Carlton Baugh and David Bernard managed to stitch together a partnership that took them to a respectable score of 117 runs. The team was bowled out in 19.1 overs. Krishmar Santokie was the top bowler for the home team as he took 3 wickets giving away just 20 runs. On the other hand Baugh was the top scorer for the visitors scoring 32 runs in 30 balls.

The score of 118 was a low score in a Twenty 20 match and it was easily chased down by the home side. The openers provided a solid start to the team scoring 48 runs in just 6 overs. It was Martin Guptill who was first to go as he was bowled out by ace off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan. The second wicket for the home side fell early as Mohammad Hafeez after scoring 6 runs. But the game was controlled by Ramnaresh Sarwan and Lendl Simmons. These two batsmen took the team past the required run in just 15 overs. Simmons was the top scorer as he scored 67 runs. Muralitharan was the only wicket taker taking 2 wickets. Simmons for his batting performance was given the ma of the match award. With this win the Amazon Warriors won the 2 matches in a row.
