After the first dismissal, Faf du Plessis came on the crease to join Ayub and tried to handle the situation. Both of them had made 42 runs at the end of mandatory Powerplay. Just after the Powerplay, Quetta lost its 2nd wicket of Saim Ayub because of a runout. Then Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain himself came out to the middle to control the condition and played a beautiful inning of 81 runs that helped the Gladiators to score a defending total of 198 runs.
