The 28th match of the CPL 2020 was played between Jamaica Tallawahs and Varbados Tridents on September 5, Saturday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad in evening. Jamaica Tallawahs captain Rovmen Powell won the toss and chose to bat first.
Jermaine Blackwood and Glenn Phillips opened the inning for the Jamaica Tallawahs. They made good opening partnership of 51 runs for the Tallawahs. J Blackwood made brilliant 74 runs in 59 balls and helped the Jamaica Tallawahs to score good runs. He got out to Jason Holder in 17th over. Andre Russell was promoted in batting order in this match. He made brilliant 54 runs in just 28 balls and finished the innings of Jamaica Tallawahs. Jamaica made 161 runs with the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 over. Mitchell Santner bowled exceptionally well but he could not get any wicket. Rashid Khan bowled brilliantly and took important wicket of Andre Russell.

J Charles got out on duck to Oshane Thomas on very first ball of the inning. Captain Holder played match winning inning and made important 69 runs in just 42 balls. J Carter and Mitchell Santner finished the game for Barbados Tridents. Mitchell Santner made not out 35 runs in just 21 balls and helped team to chase the target in 18.2 over. J Carter also made not out 42 runs in 44 balls and finished the game with Mitchell Santner for Barbados Tridents. Sandeep Lamichhane showed brilliant bowling performance and control for the Jamaica Tallawahs. He took 1 wicket by giving 26 runs in his 4 over.
