The final match of the KFC Big Bash League was fought between Perth Scorchers and Sidney Sixers at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney on 6 Feb 2021. Perth Scorchers won the toss and invited Sydney Sixers to bat first. Josh Philippe and James Vince were sent on the crease to open for the Sixers. Jason Behrendorff got the new ball in hand to open the attack.

The Sixers did not get a good start and unfortunately lost the wicket of Josh Philippe at the score of 28 runs only. After the dismissal of Philippe, Daniel Hughes came to join Vince but he also could not stay longer and was sent back by Richardson. But James Vince handled the situation very well and made 95 runs from 60 balls. The rest of the batsmen came and went after giving some support to Vince. Finally, Sydney had put a total of 188 runs on the scoreboard because of James Vince’s excellent performance. The Scorchers got the target of 189 runs from 120 balls to take back the title of BBL.

Cameron Bancroft and Liam Livingstone came on the crease to chase the target. The new ball was given to Jackson Bird. Both the openers gave a pretty nice start for their team and scored 43 runs without any loss at the end of the first mandatory Powerplay. After the Powerplay, Jackson Bird took the first breakthrough for his team and dismissed Cameron Bancroft in 4.5 overs. After his dismissal, no batsmen except Livingstone could do better, and even three players of the Scorchers could not open their account. Finally, Perth could make only 161 runs and lost the final of BBL 2021.

Sydney Sixers won the Final of Big Bash League 2020-21 by 27 runs. Sydney won the BBL title for the third time. James Vince was the Man of the Match and Josh Philippe was awarded the Man of the Series title.
