On 29th April 2017, it was the 35th match of Indian Premier League T20 2017. The match was played between Gujarat Lions and Mumbai Indians. Gujarat Lions won the toss and decided to bat. They made a total of 153 runs and Mumbai Indian needed 154 to win the match. But the match ended with no result and it was tied. Now, the match went to the super over.

In the Super over, Joes Buttler and Kieron Pollard came onto the ground to bat for Mumbai Indians. The ball was given to James Faulkner. Faulkner bowled his first ball really well and gave just one run. On the second ball, Kieron Pollard played a tremendous shot on the off-side boundary and got a one-bounce four. The score was 5 runs from 2 balls. Again, Pollard hit over the long-on boundary for a six on the next ball of Faulkner. James Faulkner tried his next ball for a Yorker but it was a lower full toss. Pollard tried to clear the long-on field but caught by Aaron Finch at the deep. Now, the score was 11 runs from 4 balls at the loss of 1 wicket. James Faulkner ended the Mumbai Indians innings by taking the wicket on the next ball. Now, Gujarat Lions needed 12 runs from 6 balls to win the match.

Aaron Finch and Brendon McCullum came onto the ground from Gujarat Lions. The bowling responsibility was given to Jasprit Bumrah. The first delivery of Jasprit Bumrah was a Yorker but it was given no-ball for overstepping. That resulted in 1 extra run from no ball and a free hit for Gujarat Lions. Bumrah bowled really well and gave just a single. Bumrah’s next ball was not good and it was given wide. Another extra run for Gujarat Lions and now needed 9 runs from 5 balls. Jasprit Bumrah did an excellent job with his slower one and McCullum completely missed that one. Another slower one from Bumrah and McCullum again missed that but anyhow took a single. One more Yorker length ball from Bumrah and the result was a dot ball. Now, Gujarat Lions needed 8 runs from 2 balls.

Gujarat needed a boundary on the 5th ball but it was beautifully bowled by Bumrah and gave only one run. 7 needed in the last ball. The last ball was a fuller length ball and McCullum hit it towards the long-off fielder for a single. Bumrah did a fabulous job for Mumbai Indians and stopped Gujarat Lions at only 6 runs. Mumbai Indians won the match by 5 runs. Krunal Pandya was given the Man of the Match title for his bowling effort (14 runs from 4 overs and 3 wickets).
