The cricket governing authority of Bangladesh and West Indies have decided and prepared a schedule for the 3 T20 international series between both the teams in the upcoming month of July 2022 in the West Indies. All the matches of the West Indies vs Bangladesh T20 series 2022 will be held in Dominica and Guyana. The series will commence with the first T20 on 2nd July 2022 at Windsor Park, Dominica, then the second T20 will be played at the same stadium on 3rd July 2022, then both the squads will head over to Providence Stadium in Guyana for the 3rd T20 match of the series. This T20 series will play an important role for both the teams considering the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Most probably, Bangladesh will travel to West Indies for the T20 series under the captaincy of Mahmudullah with Russell Domingo as a head coach. On the other hand, Nicholas Pooran will take command of the West Indies T20 squad under the guidance of Phil Simmons. In terms of ICC ranking, both the teams are very close to each other as West Indies is in the 7th position while Bangladesh is standing at the 8th position in the ICC T20 team ranking. Bangladesh has not been able to win so many T20 series or trophies but still, they are skilled enough to beat any world-class team and they have proved it in the last few years. Due to the rising players, they have appeared 7 times in the Men's T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh got the full authority of playing Test, ODI, and T20 in 2000, since then they have appeared in 125 T20 international matches out of which they have successfully won 44 matches and faced defeat in 79 matches while playing 2 T20 without any outcome. On the other hand, West Indies has appeared in 159 T20 matches in which they won 66 matches and lost 81 matches with 9 matches ending up without any result and 3 T20 were played tied.
In terms of head to head in T20, both the squad have faced each other on 13 occasions where West Indies have the upper hand by winning 7 matches and losing 5 matches with a winning percentage of 58.33. The number shows that both the team have played almost equally and will give the tough competition to each other. The last time, Bangladesh toured to West Indies in 2018 for 3 T20 series Bangladesh defeated West Indies by 2-1 in West Indies, so there have always been close encounters between both the teams in the past and cricket fans will expect the same in the upcoming series.
