A strong performance from Cobras leads to victory against Dolphins - The Cape Cobras and Dolphins met each other in the 5th match of the Ram Slam T20 tournament. The Defending champions were looking to make sure that they earned the points at the end of the match and hence after winning the toss the Dolphins decided to bat first.

Morne van Wyk the opener lost his wicket up early in the innings. After scoring only 6 runs he was back in the pavilion in just 2.3 overs when the Dolphins managed to score only 12 uns. Cameron Delport and Divan van Wyk held together the match scoring runs at a good pace. In just 10 overs they took the score to 73 but Divan lost his wicket scoring 18 runs. Soon in the next over Delport too lost his wicket scoring 46 runs. This opening gave the Cobras a chance to make a mark in the match and they came back hard in the game taking quick wickets. The middle order of the defending champions didn’t last long and at a score of 121 they lost 9 wickets. Vaughn van Jaarsveld was the only player who scored 28 runs while others lost their wicket failing to reach a double figure mark in the match. Mthokozisi Shezi and Sybrand Engelbrecht took 3 wickets each in the match.

Cobras did well to comeback in the match and they needed to chase only 128 runs in order to win the match. Richard Levi and Andrew Puttick gave their team a good start scoring 62 runs in the match for the 1st wicket in just 6 overs. Levi after scoring 44 runs lost his wicket and Omphile Ramela on the crease. He scored 28 runs along with Puttick who scored 48 runs to register a victory in the match.

Richard Levi was named as the batsman of the match while Sybrand Engelbrecht was named as the bowler of the match as Cobras earned the important 5 points from the game.
