Tridents emerge as winners in a high scoring game - The 6th match of the Caribbean Premiere League saw Antigua Hawksbills and Barbados Tridents come face to face. This was a home game for the Hawksbill and was put into bat by the Tridents. The Hwaksbills used the home condition well to score a good amount of runs. Although the team lost first wicket fell in the 4th over the team still got a good start due to some courageous batting from Ben Dunk and Marlon Samuels. Dunk scored 33 runs of 28 balls while Samuels scored 84 runs in just 54 balls. He lost his wicket in the 19th over and later David hussy in just 16 balls scored 32 runs to take his team to a good score at the end. In search of getting some quick balls in last 10 balls the team constantly lost wickets and didn’t get the finish which they were looking for. They scored 172 runs in their 20 overs. Ravi Rampaul took 4 wickets in his 4 overs giving away 32 runs.

The Tridents had the perfect start to a tough chase. In the end of 6 overs the team scored 60 runs. At the start of the 7th over the team lost the all-important wicket of Dwayne Smith. The whole batting attack was handled by the Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. He played an innings of 72 runs in 50 balls. In his innings he was accompanied by the middle order batsman and the lower order batsmen who made sure that the team reaches the required target of 173 runs in just 19.2 overs. The bowling from the Hawksbills was an average one and hence it resulted into the third straight loss in the tournament. Shoaib Malik was rightly named as the man of the match for his match winning innings of 72 runs.
