Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya played good inning and made a partnership of 128 runs for 5th wicket. Dhawan scored 74 runs, and Hardik Pandya made most 90 runs for India. India made 308 runs in 2nd inning, and Australia won the match by 66 runs and led the series by 1-0. Steve Smith was selected as player of the match.

The 2nd match of the series was held on November 29, 2020, at Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Aaron Finch and David Warner gave a brilliant start to the team. They made 142 runs for the 1st wicket. Aaron Finch made 60 runs, and David Warner scored 83 runs. Steven Smith scored a consecutive century in the series and made 104 runs in 64 balls. Marnus Labuschagne also scored 70 runs, and Glenn Maxwell finished the inning in style and made not out 63 runs in just 29 balls. Australia made their highest total of 389 runs against India in ODIs.

Indian team failed to chase the target and made 338 runs in 2nd inning. Virat Kohli scored most 89 runs for India. KL Rahul also made 76 runs, but Australia comfortably won the match by 51 runs and sealed the series by 2-0.

The 3rd or last match of the series was held on December 2, 2020, at Manuka Oval. India won the toss and elected to bat first. Hardik Pandya scored most 92 not out runs for India, and R Jadeja also made 66 not out runs for India. India made 302 runs in their 50 overs. Australian team failed to chase the target and got all out on 289 runs. Shardul Thakur took 3 wickets for India. Australia won the series by 3-1, and Steven Smith was selected as player of the series.
