This match is going to be held on 19th of January 2014 on Pukekura Park in New Plymouth. It is the twelfth match of the league and will be played between Papua New Guinea and Netherlands at 10:30 AM, NZDT.
It was in 19th century that cricket was introduced in Netherlands by the British. They played their first match in 1881 against a cricket club. The team played for the ICC from 1979 to 2005 and won several trophies during this period. Netherlands have been winning matches ever since it stepped in the playground and has not backed out. It is one of the strongest team of ICC and is expected to win many more matches in future.
On the other hand, Papua New Guinea was introduced in the 1900s by the London Missionary Society. No sooner, the team started participating in the ICC matches and became its associate member. Several matches on national and international level have been held by the team and won as well. The coach of the team is Peter Anderson who has one of the best players under him like Willie Gavera, Rarua Dikana etc. who have been working hard to improve the performance of their team.
