The fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL 2023) started a few days ago on Sunday. This tournament will see five teams compete against each other. The Jaffna Kings are the defending champions, having won all three previous editions. It will be another exciting season for the fans, which will have 24 games, and the final will take place on August 20.
The tournament will take place in two venues across Sri Lanka: R. Premadasa Stadium and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Some big names also joined the league for the upcoming season. The likes of Babar Azam, Shakib Al Hasan, David Miller, Wanindu Hasaranga, Naseem Shah, and many more are part of the ongoing season. The five teams taking part in the competition are Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers, B-Love Kandy, Dambulla Aura, and Galle Titans.
Lanka Premier League 2023 Tournament Details
The fourth edition will be played between five teams. Every team will play the opposition twice, which will be eight group matches. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs, while one will be eliminated. All four matches in the playoffs will be played in Colombo. Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will take place on August 17, while Qualifier 2 will take place on August 19.
