The picturesque Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium is located on the outskirts of the beautiful city of Pothanamallayapalam, Visakhapatnam among scenic hills. It is the stadium of Andhra Cricket Association / Vishakhapatnam District Cricket Association. It has hosted nine one international cricket matches so far. The best among them was the 2nd One Day International of India-Pakistan in the year 2005. It has one of the best batting pitches in India. A total of 650 runs was scored in this match. The true, hard and perfect hitting by Indian batsman- wicketkeeper ‘Mahendra Singh Dhoni’ proved the worth of this track and scored smashing 148. The seating capacity of this sports ground is 25,000. The association plans to enlarge its capacity to 36,000 with more tier’s addition to the stands. It was established in the year 2003. The stadium has the facility of floodlights as well. It has two ends: DV Subbarao End and Vizzy End. The curator of this blasting pitch is Mr. K. Nagamallaiah. One T20 international match was also played here between India and New Zealand. This is also one of the favourite venues for Indian Premier League matches. It has hosted two IPL matches by far.
